Ariana Ortiz is a Mexican-American journalist, writer, and editor. She grew up in the border city of El Paso, Texas, and writes with a focus on local and national politics, community issues, and social justice.

She is the founder and editor-in-chief of Ojo Magazine (formerly Trascender Magazine), a publication by and platform for people of marginalized identities. She is also an editor and creative director of Mujeristas Collective, an educational and creative organization for Latinas.

She was an editorial intern with the Queens Chronicle and is the former co-news and features editor of the Torch, the independent student newspaper of St. John's University in Queens, New York. She holds a bachelor of science in journalism from St. John's University.

Her writing and poetry have also been featured in Chifladazine and Sequoya Literary Magazine.

When she's not reading or writing, she loves to illustrate, organize elaborate photoshoots, and collect ghost stories.
